Brenda Novak is a best-selling novelist of numerous fictional works. She is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Novak studied business at Brigham Young University until she married at the age of 20. Commercial real estate agent and loan officer were among her early careers. When she discovered her daycare provider’s practice of giving her children cough syrup and Tylenol to make them sleep all day, she decided she wanted to work from home, and over the course of five years, learned how to write. Her first novel, historical romance Of Noble Birth, was published in November 1999. She is the author of over fifty books, including bestsellers The Secret Sister and titles in her Whiskey Creek series, This Heart of Mine and The Heart of Christmas.

She has written stand-alone historical novels, such as Of Noble Birth, Honor Bound, Through the Smoke, and A Matter of Grave Concern. She has also contributed to anthologies and written novellas.

Novak was born in 1964 in Vernal, Utah. She and her husband, Ted, are the parents of five children and live in California. Their youngest son was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at the age of five. Novak hosts an annual online auction for diabetes research, which is the largest online diabetes auction in the world. She has raised more than $2 million for research.

She and her husband and children live in Sacramento, California.
