Larry Albert Sagers was an award-winning horticulture agent with the Utah State University Extension and longtime host of the weekly KSL Greenhouse Show. He wrote a weekly column for the Deseret News and taught master gardener classes at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi, Utah. He and his wife, Diane, led garden tours across America and the world. He was widely known throughout the state of Utah as the man to answer any questions about gardening and horticulture.

Sagers was born on June 25, 1949, in Tooele, Utah. He and his wife had six children and 21 grandchildren. He died on November 6, 2012, from mesothelioma, a rare form of cancer. The disease typically afflicts those who had exposure to asbestos or tobacco. He had neither of those risk factors. The last few months of his life he was unable to travel to the KSL studio, so he broadcast his show from his home in Erda, Utah. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
