During his general conference closing message on April 7, 2023, President Russell M. Nelson announced plans to construct a temple in Victoria, British Columbia. The Victoria British Columbia Temple is one of fifteen newly announced temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.[1]

The Victoria British Columbia Temple will be Canada's eleventh temple and the second in British Columbia.

Victoria is the capital of British Columbia on the southeastern edge of historic Vancouver Island. Missionary service in Canada began in the early 1830s with the organization of the Church in upstate New York and in close proximity to the Canadian border. Canada is home to more than 200,000 Latter-day Saints in nearly 500 congregations.

Location

The Victoria British Columbia Temple is currently in the planning stages. No location has been announced.
