Phil Olsen is a former National Football League center and defensive tackle. He was drafted in the first round of the 1970 draft by the Boston Patriots. Before he could report to the Patriots, he suffered a season-ending knee injury in a College All-Star game.

He was traded to the Los Angeles Rams for the 1971 season. A second injury to his knee delayed his start by five weeks. He played defensive tackle by his brother Merlin Olsen’s side during the 1971 and 1972 seasons. He moved to defensive end for the 1973 and 1974 seasons. In 1975 he was traded to the Denver Broncos in 1975, where he played center through 1976.

Olsen moved to the Buffalo Bills team but suffered a third knee injury that placed him on the injured reserve list. He retired soon afterward.

Olsen brothers Phil, Merlin, and Orrin were all playing in the NFL in 1976, one of the few times in NFL history that three brother have played at the same time. From 1971 through 1978, he and his brothers Merlin and Orrin ran the Olsen Brothers All-Sports Camps for youth ages 8 through 17.
