Al Switzler

Al Switzler is coauthor of the New York Times bestsellers Crucial Conversations, Crucial Accountability, Change Anything, and Influencer. He is cofounder and cochairman of VitalSmarts.

Switzler earned his bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University and taught at the Marriott School of Management, where he was awarded the first “Innovation in Teaching” Award and was MBA Professor of the Year. He is on the faculty at the University of Michigan Executive Development Center and has taught at Auburn University and the University of Kentucky.

He is a renowned consultant and speaker who has directed training and management initiatives with leaders from Fortune 500 companies worldwide. He has developed or co-designed numerous training programs. He has served as president of two consulting firms, vice president of marketing for an information firm, and director of training and management development for a healthcare organization.

He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
