Danny Southwick: Mormon Athlete
Danny Southwick is a professional football quarterback, currently playing for Portland Arena Football League (AFL).
Southwick lettered in football at Timpview High School in Provo, Utah. After serving a two-year mission to Texas for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he played football for a number of colleges, including Oregon State University, Dixie State College, University of Utah, and Occidental College. His professional career began when he signed with the Louisville Fire, which he played with for one season before the franchise folded. Since then he has spent short periods with the Oakland Raiders, the Dallas Vigilantes, the Tampa Bay Storm, the San Jose Sabercats, the San Antonio Talons, the Chicago Rush, the Cleveland Gladiators, the Portland Thunder, the Spokane Shock, the Los Angeles KISS, finally landing with the Portland AFL team in 2016.
Southwick is the son of Dan Southwick and Shawn Southwick King. He and his wife, Tilly, have one child.
