David Chapman Lindsay: Mormon Artist
David Chapman Lindsay is an artist based in Texas where he is associate professor of foundations and drawings at Texas Tech University. He earned his BFA degree from Utah State University and his MFA degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Lindsay’s work involves “figurative painting, minimalist forms, church spaces, and an intense interest in space as a metaphor for community and individual psychologies.” He has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions throughout the United States.
He has been a curator and juror at the national level and spoke at the International Conference of the Arts and Society in Edinburgh, Scotland.
He and his wife are the parents of five children. He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
