Derek Schouman is a former professional athlete. He was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the seventh round of the 2007 NFL Draft. He was placed on injured reserve in both 2009 and 2010 and was waived on September 8, 2010. He signed with the St. Louis Rams in November 2010. He signed with the Washington Redskins on August 10, 2011, but was released on September 3, 2011. During his professional career, he had 27 receptions and received one touchdown.

During high school, he lettered in football and was a two-year starter. As a senior, he was a first-team All-Southern Idaho Conference selection. As a junior, he was a second-team All-Southern Idaho Conference selection. He started all four-years at Boise State and was first-team All-WAC two times. He was an offensive graduate assistant for the Boise State football team.
