Emily Porter LeSueur: Mormon Athlete
Emily Porter LeSueur was a member of the United States synchronized swimming team that took gold at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics; the first Olympics to include the eight-member competition. In the years leading up to the Olympics, she was a US Olympic Festival team champion, a Pan American Games team gold medalist, a US Collegiate solo champion, a French Open team champion, a US Collegiate solo silver medalist, among many other achievements.
LaSueur was born on November 7, 1972, in Glendale, California and raised in Mesa, Arizona. She earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Arizona State University. She was an All-American.
She is married to Ben LeSueur and is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
