Martha McBride Knight

Martha McBride Knight Kimball was a founding member of the Female Relief Society of Nauvoo.

She was born on March 17, 1805, in Chester, Washington County, New York. Her first marriage was to Vinson Knight in 1826 and they had seven children. She was widowed in July 1842.

She was baptized in 1834 and moved to Kirtland in 1835, then to Adam-ondi-Ahman by 1838, and to Nauvoo by 1839. She was a plural wife of Joseph Smith as of August 1842. She became a plural wife of Heber C. Kimball in October 1844.

Martha migrated to the Salt Lake Valley in 1850 and settled in Weber County, Utah Territory, in Ogden and in Hooper. She was widowed in 1868 and died in Hooper, Utah on November 20, 1901.
