Paul E. Koelliker

Paul E. Koelliker served as a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 2005 to 2013. He also served as managing director of the Temple Department from 1997 to 2005, assisting Church president Gordon B. Hinckley in the construction and dedication of 69 temples.

Elder Koelliker was born on March 12, 1943, in Pittsburg, California, where his father, Edward Conrad Koelliker, was stationed in the military. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Utah and worked in several different Church departments, including as secretary to the Presiding Bishopric.

Besides his service as a general authority, he served in many ward and stake callings, including as a bishop, stake president, and gospel doctrine teacher. He served as president of the Church’s Africa Southeast Area for a time. He also served a full-time mission to Germany in 1964, when the Berlin Wall separated East Germany from West Berlin.

Elder Koelliker and his wife, Ann, had seven children. He died on December 7, 2022.
