Anthony Duane Perkins is a general authority of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was called to serve in the First Quorum of the Seventy on April 1, 2006.
Perkins was born on July 22, 1960, in Cortez, Colorado. He earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from Brigham Young University. He earned a dual master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania: a master’s in international studies with an emphasis on East Asia from the Lauder Institute and an MBA from the Wharton School.
As a young man, he served as a full-time missionary to Taiwan and after his graduate studies he joined an international management consulting firm and helped open an office in China. He and his family lived in Beijing for eight years, where he also served as president of the Beijing Branch. In 2003, he was called to preside over the Taiwan Taipei Mission, where he was serving at the time of his call to the Seventy. As part of his responsibilities as a Seventy, he served as a counselor and then as president of the Asia Area of the Church.
Perkins and his wife, Christine, are the parents of six children.
