On August 15, 2023, the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced that Alexander Dushku had been called to be a General AuthoritySeventy. Elder Dushku will be sustained at the October 2023 general conference.

His prior ecclesiastical service includes full-time missionary in the Portugal Lisbon Mission, elders quorum president, bishopric counselor, high councilor, bishop, and stake president.

Dushku received a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Brigham Young University in 1990 and a Juris Doctor degree from Brigham Young University Law School in 1993. He has worked as an attorney for Kirton McConkie since 1996.

He was born in Fairfield, California, on November 17, 1966. He married Jennifer Burnham in 1988 and they have eight children.
