Ben Isaacs: Mormon Actor
Benjamin Garry Isaacs is a promising young actor with a prestigious award and both stage and movie experience to his credit. He earned his bachelor’s of fine arts degree in music dance theatre from Brigham Young University in 2014. While at BYU, he played the role of Orlando in As You Like It, was the Common Man and the narrator for A Man for All Seasons, Charles Musgrove in Persuasion, was part of the cast in the full-length production of the film Beyond, and was part of the cast of The Crucible. He played El Gallo in The Fantasticks at the Covey Center for the Arts in Provo.
In the 2012 Region VIII Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, Isaacs was awarded the National Partners of the American Theatre's Classical Acting Award. Isaacs and his acting partner, Magarin Hobson, were selected as finalists for the 2013 Irene Ryan award. Isaacs was also a semi-finalist in the 2014 Irene Ryan competition with his acting partner, Alyssa Kinkade.
Isaacs played Thomas in the independent film 16 Stones. He also played the titular role in Barton Fink in a BYU student film.
Isaacs is from Taney County, Missouri. After his graduation from BYU, he worked as theatre adjunct faculty at BYU. He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
