Alvin Greenwood Twitchell was the first head football coach at Brigham Young University. He served in that position from 1922 to 1924. His record was 5-13-1. He also served as basketball coach from 1920 to 1925. His record was 100-51.

He coached basketball at Colorado College from 1926 to 1930 and football at Pueblo Centennial High School in 1941.

Twitchell was born on May 13, 1892, in Beaver, Utah. He died on May 10, 1955, in Pueblo, Colorado. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
