Amgid is a character in the Book of Mormon's Book of Ether. He is known for for being a king and a ruler over the Jaredites. During his reign, Amgid continued the captivity of the descendents of Hearthom, who was overthown as king of the Jaredites. One of Hearthoms descendents, Com, ended the captivity and drew away half of the Jaredites in rebellion against Amgid. This lasted for forty-two years until Amgid fought Com for control of the kingdom. Com proved victorious, however, and Amgid lost the remainder of the kingdom.
