Ben B. Banks

Ben B. Banks is a General Authority of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was sustained as a member of the Second Quorum of the Seventy on April 1, 1989, and served until June 6, 1992, when he was sustained as a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy. He also served as one of the seven Presidents of the Seventy from August 15, 1999, to August 15, 2002. He was designated as emeritus General Authority on October 5, 2002. He then served as president of the Jordan River Utah Temple until 2005, at which time he and his wife, Susan, became the directors of Church Hosting and served for a number of years.

Banks was born on April 4, 1932, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He built a lumber business in Salt Lake City. At the time of his call as a General Authority, he was presiding over the Scotland Edinburgh Mission. He has also served in the Church as bishop and stake president.

Banks and his wife have seven sons, one daughter, and one foster son.
