Brady Udall Mormon Writer

Brady Udall is the author of Letting Loose the Hounds (1997), The Miracle Life of Edgar Mint (2001), and the New York Times bestseller The Lonely Polygamist (2010). He won the Spur Award for Best Novel of the West.

He teaches writing at Boise State University and was a faculty member of Southern Illinois University and Franklin & Marshall College.

Udall is a member of the Udall political family, including Stewart Udall, Levi Stewart Udall, and Morris Udall. He grew up in Arizona and earned his degree from Brigham Young University. He also attended the Iowa Writers’ Workshop.

He lives in Idaho with his wife and children. He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
