He was raised a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, (sometimes casually called the Mormon Church) in Summerlin, Nevada (a small community in Las Vegas). Urie went to Palo Verde High School, where he met Brent Wilson. Wilson introduced him into his band, which consisted of Ryan Ross, Spencer Smith, and their friend Trevor.
