Brenton Yorgason Mormon Author

Brenton G. Yorgason is an author, motivational speaker, and marriage and family therapist. He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Yorgason received his doctorate in family studies and marriage and family therapy from Brigham Young University. He was a marriage and family therapist for seventeen years. He founded The Lighthouse Institute and speaks, coaches, and writes on life changes from the inside. His titles include Capturing Your Dreams: 6 Disciplines that Will Transform Your Life and Paradise Creek: A Compelling Story of Life’s Triumphs. He taught part time at BYU. He and his wife, Margaret, have written several books together and often give lectures on marriage and family. They are the parents of nine children.

Yorgason coauthored some of his books with his brother Blaine M. Yorgason, the most successful being Chester, I Love You, which Disney Productions made into a movie titled Thanksgiving Promise. He wrote a number of biographies, including All About Jim: The James Leo Thynne Story; Seamless Lives: The Frank and Betty Newman Martino Story; Man of Vision: The Charles Roy Albright Story; Life Is So Beautiful: The Mary Lou Fulton Story; The Story of Ira A. Fulton: A Latter-day Lionheart; Standing Tall: The Shawn Bradley Story; and Ty: The Ty Detmer Story.
