Ashton was born in 1970 in Provo, Utah. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University and his MBA from Harvard Business School. Prior to his call, he was completing his three-year service as president of the Texas Houston South Mission. He also served a mission to Peru. Ashton and his wife, Melinda, are the parents of six children.
