Brian K. Ashton

In June 2015, Brian Kent Ashton was called to serve in the Sunday School general presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, of which he is a member. He filled a vacancy left in the presidency when John S. Tanner was appointed president of BYU-Hawaii. He was released from service on April 6, 2019.

Ashton was born in 1970 in Provo, Utah. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University and his MBA from Harvard Business School. He served as chief executive officer, director, and chairman of the board of directors of Precision Time. He was vice president of strategic development for GetThere. He was founder and principal of AllMeetings.com and consultant at McKinsey & Company. He served as director of Corrective Education Company.

Prior to his call, he was completing his three-year service as president of the Texas Houston South Mission. He also served a mission to Peru. Ashton and his wife, Melinda, are the parents of six children.
