Burke Olsen was named publisher of the Deseret News in February 2023. He had previously served with the Deseret News as vice president and head digital officer. He was also general manager and content director at DeseretNews.com.
Olsen served as vice president of communications and marketing at Southern Virginia University. He had also been director of University Communications. He was communications associate at Pew Research Center’s Religion and Public Life Project.
Olsen holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Brigham Young University. He did graduate work at The Johns Hopkins University.
