Carolyn J. Rasmus is a retired teacher, having taught on Long Island, New York, at Iowa State University, and Brigham Young University. While at BYU, she was converted to the gospel of Jesus Christ and joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After earning her PhD, she became a full professor and served as administrative assistant to BYU presidents Dallin H. Oaks and Jeffrey R. Holland. She later served as an administrative assistant to the Young Women general presidency. She retired after she taught at the Orem Institute of Religion, adjacent to what is now Utah Valley University.
