Casey Patterson Mormon Athlete

Casey Patterson is an Olympic beach volleyball athlete and competed in the 2016 Olympic Games with partner Jake Gibb. They tied for 19th place. Since 2013 when they formed their partnership, they have won one gold, two silvers, and one bronze at FIVB Grand Slams (2014 bronze Stare Jablonki, 2013 gold Shanghai, silver Corrientes and Argentina). In 2013, he and Gibb were named the USAV Beach Team of the Year and AVP Men’s Team of the Year. He was named AVP Best Offensive Player for the year as well.

He was born on April 20, 1980 and earned team MVP honors at Newbury Park High School. He also played for Club Santa Barbara. He played setter and opposite hitter for the volleyball team at Brigham Young University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in recreational management.


Patterson and his wife, Lexi, are the parents of three children. Patterson is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
