Fundamental to Mormon belief is that God is our Father in Heaven and wants what is best for His children.  Because of His love for all mankind, He instituted the Plan of Salvation, whereby people could gain bodies, learn and grow, and because of the Atonement and Resurrection of Jesus Christ, eventually return to the presence of God and live forever.
