Chelsea Stenson Rippy is an entrepreneur who focuses her companies on the needs of women. She was the founder and CEO of Shade Clothing from October 2003 to July 2010 and founded Troop, a well-being and natural health product interactive website in November 2014. She also created and owned an interior design and decorating company From the Attic.

Shade Clothing was born when she couldn’t find modest undershirts and decided to meet her own need, and most likely the needs of other LDS women (she is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints). Her undershirts featured higher necklines and a longer cut. In her first year, she sold more than $2 million worth of merchandise. She also found a niche with women of other faiths who were also looking for stylish, yet modest clothing. Chelsea eventually sold her Shade Clothing brand to a large retailer.

Rippy was born in 1974 and raised in Wyoming and Oregon. She studied at Ricks College and earned her bachelor’s degree in health education and communications from Brigham Young University. She lives in Utah with her husband, Tyler, and their children.
