Cherilyn Worthen is an associate professor of choral education at Utah Valley University where she directs the women’s and concert choirs. She also directs the Chorale at Temple Square, which is the training school for the Tabernacle Choir. She serves on the committee for the new hymnbook for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She earned both a bachelor’s degree in music education and a master’s in choral conducting from Brigham Young University. She holds a PhD in music education from the University of Utah.

She has taught at the Waterford School in Sandy, Utah. She has served on the choral committee of the Utah Music Educators Association.
