Christopher Holmes is a full lyric baritone and vocal performance instructor. He is a voice instructor at both Brigham Young University and Utah Valley University. He is currently adjunct faculty in classical voice at Brigham Young University. He was artistic director of Utah Lyric Opera from 2009 to 2015. He also taught voice at Texas State University.

Holmes holds degrees in opera from Oberlin College Conservatory (Bachelor’s of Music and Master’s of Music in voice and opera) and Temple University (Master’s of Music, voice and opera). He has performed with such companies as Austin Lyric Opera, Central City Opera, Eugene Opera, Opera Idaho, Phoenix Opera, Juneau Lyric Opera, Rimrock Opera, Utah Festival Opera, and San Antonio Opera. in Utah he has appeared with the Utah Symphony, Ballet West, Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square, Salt Lake Choral Artists, Oratorio Society of Utah, American West Symphony, Oquirrh Mountain Symphony, and Murray Symphony.

He performed in a faculty recital with tenor Isaac Hurtado in September 2021. They have performed together in productions around the United States.

Holmes is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is from Provo, Utah.
