Cree-L Kofford

Cree-L Kofford was called to serve as a general authority of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on June 6, 1991, and served until he was granted emeritus status on October 4, 2003. He served in the Second Quorum of the Seventy from June 6, 1991 to April 2, 1994, and in the First Quorum of the Seventy from April 2, 1994 to October 4, 2003.

He was born on July 11, 1933 in Santaquin, Utah, and lived in many locations in Utah, Nevada, and California, as the family followed Cree-L’s father in his construction work. When the family lived in Orem, Utah, Cree-L met Ila MacDonald and made the decision to be active in the Church. He and Ila were married in 1953 and became the parents of five children.

Kofford earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah and taught school for a number of years while saving for law school. The family moved to Los Angeles where he earned his juris doctorate degree from the University of Southern California. He taught early-morning seminary while establishing his own law practice. They lived in Monrovia and Arcadia for thirty years.

He has served in the Church as bishop, stake president, regional representative, and mission president in New York.
