Daryl Hoole
Daryl Van Dam Hoole is an author and lecturer on home management and family living.
Hoole was born on March 5, 1934, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She served as a missionary in the Netherlands when her father served as a mission president for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served again later when her husband, Hendricus (Hank), presided over the same mission. She and her husband served a third mission in Asia as area welfare-humanitarian administrators, based in Hong Kong. She was a member of the Primary organization’s general board.
She is a full-time homemaker and mother to eight living children. She authored six books, including the bestselling and widely known The Art of Homemaking. Her most recent work is The Ultimate Career: The Art of Homemaking for Today. She also produced a CD, Little Things That Can Make a Big Difference.
Hoole has also lectured extensively throughout the United States and Canada, primarily to LDS women, but also to home and family-oriented people of diverse faiths and circumstances. She has been a popular speaker for forty years at Brigham Young University’s Education Week as well as the Know Your Religion programs and Deseret Book’s Time Out for Women.
