David L. Beck, former general Young Men's President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

David LeRoy Beck was called as the general Young Men's President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in April 2009 and released in April 2015. Beck was born on April 12, 1953, in Salt Lake City, Utah. At the age of ten, he moved to Brazil for three years, as his father, Wayne Beck, was called to be a mission president. Later, Beck served in the Brazil North Central (later the Brazil São Paulo North) Mission.

In May 2021, the Church announced that Beck had been called to serve as president of the MTC in Brazil. His wife will serve as his companion. They will begin their service when the MTC resumes its onsite training. Due to the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic, missionaries have been training remotely. The Becks previously served as president and companion of the Brazil Rio de Janeiro North Mission.

Beck holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and a master's degree in engineering administration, both from the University of Utah. He has been an executive with a manufacturing and distribution company and serves on the board of a technology college. He has served as a bishop, a stake president, a stake high councilor, and elders quorum president. Beck is married to the former Robyn Erickson and they are the parents of four children.
