In 2012 CEO Mark H. Willes retired and was replaced by Keith B. McMullin, recently released from his calling as a General Authority of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. McMullin was a counselor in the presiding bishopric of the Church of Jesus Christ. He was a business executive before being called into full-time service for the Church, including at Ford Motor Company. Mark Willes had been called out of retirement to lead Deseret Management and was at the helm as the company eased away from print and into the digital world. Willes was vice chairman of the board of directors of General Mills, and CEO of Times Mirror Company, where he also served as publisher of the Los Angeles Times.

McMullin will retire on December 1, 2023, and Jeff Simpson has been appointed in his place as CEO and president.

Deseret Management Corp. is the for-profit arm of the Church and includes media-related companies Deseret Book; the Deseret News; KSL-TV, KSL Newsradio and other Bonneville International radio stations; and its newest entity, Deseret Digital Media. DMC also includes Temple Square Hospitality and Beneficial Financial Group. [2] Read about these businesses.
