Dorice Williams Elliott is a professor of English at Kentucky University. She was chair of the English department from 2003 to 2009. She received the Hall Center for the Humanities Research Fellowship (2011), the W. T. Kemper Fellowship for Teaching Excellence (2010), and was a Senior Administrative Fellow at the University of Kansas (2006-07).

She is the author of numerous articles and papers.She is the author of The Angel Out of the House: Philanthropy and Gender in Nineteenth-Century England.

Elliott earned her bachelor's degree in English summa cum laude from Brigham Young University, her master's in English and American literature from the University of Utah, and her PhD in English literature from The Johns Hopkins University.

She is married to playwright and professor Robert Elliott, She is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
