Eran A. Call

Eran A. Call was a General Authority of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was sustained a member of the Second Quorum of the Seventy in April 1997 where he served until October 2000. Prior to that call, he served as a bishop, stake high councilor, stake presidency counselor twice, and stake patriarch. He presided over the Mexico City Mission from 1970 to 1973 and was president of the Missionary Training Center in Mexico from 1995 to 1996.

Call was born on December 1929, in Colonia Dublán, Mexico. He graduated from the Juárez Stake Academy in Colonia Juárez, Mexico. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University and his master’s degree in business administration from New York University. He also served two years in the US Army in the Panama Canal Zone.

During his career, he worked in many facets of business, from department store management to property development. He also was part of the faculty at BYU and retired in 1994. For three years in the 1980s he was a director of the Church Educational System in Mexico.

Call and his wife, Katherine “Kay”, are the parents of nine children. They served as the first president and matron of the Monterrey Mexico Temple and as public relations missionaries in the Dominican Republic. She passed away in 2015.
