Gentri: Mormon Musicians
Gentri, short for The Gentlemen Trio, consists of tenors Brad Robins, Casey Elliott, and Bradley Quinn Lever, each members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They describe their sound as “cinematic pop” that is “transfused with lush, epic orchestrations and rich, dynamic three-part harmonies.”[1] Each has a background performing in musical theater. They came together in June 2014 and continue to gain a following.
Robins formed the Gentlemen Trio — Gentri — with two other tenors he met at a Hale Center Theatre production of Les Miserables. They started the group in June of 2014 and were soon joined by their producer Stephen Nelson, a BYU commercial music grad.
Gentri’s first album debuted in March 2015 and hit number two on both the Classical and Classical Crossover Billboard charts. Their debut Christmas EP, Merry Christmas, is a mashup of “What Child Is This?" and "I Wonder As I Wander” that hit number one on Billboard’s Hot Single chart three times during the season.
At the end of 2015, they were featured with Lexi Walker in a TV Christmas concert, “Christmas Under the Stars,” which was filmed at the recreated old Jerusalem set that the Church built for the setting for its Bible videos.
In 2018, they headlined at the Provo, Utah, at the Covey Center for the Arts. They have also performed at the Provo Freedom Festival Stadium of Fire, BYU Education Week. They have shared the stage with performers Journey, One Republic, Alfie Boe, Idina Menzel, Lee Greenwood, and Kristen Chenoweth.
In September 2019, they performed at Russell M. Nelson's 95th birthday celebration. They are scheduled to perform at the Eccles in Salt Lake City on November 29 and 30.
