Harold K. Moon: Mormon Author

Harold K. Moon is the author of several novels, a volume of short stories, poetry, and several literary criticism books. He is also a retired professor of Spanish and French, having taught at Syracuse University and Brigham Young University. He obtained his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from BYU and his PhD From Syracuse University.

Moon, often known as Kay, penned the Glendrake Family Trilogy (Horse Stone House, The Leah Shadow, From the Cypress Grove) and Ghost Coast. He has written several unpublished plays and directed many plays by Spanish authors. He wrote poems “Same and Changing Seasons,” “Peace, Be Still,” “Same and Changing Seasons,” and The Word, First and Last.”

Moon is a descendent of polygamous ancestors and was born in Mesa, Arizona, during the Great Depression and raised in Idaho. He and his wife, Mayva, are the parents of nine children. He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
