However, Latter-day Saints do not withhold medical intervention to rely on spiritual healing; instead, they utilize both.
Prayer has the power to heal, as do the prayers of others in the sufferer's behalf. Prayers are offered in every temple endowment session for the sick and afflicted. These are not general prayers, but personal—the names of the sick are submitted to the temples by the concerned among the Saints.
