Jackson Cluff

Jackson Cluff is an American baseball shortstop and was selected in the sixth round of the 2019 Major League Baseball draft by the Washington Nationals. He was the183rd selection overall, even though he wasn’t included in Baseball America’s top 500 draft prospects.

Cluff played one year of college baseball before serving a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Atlanta, Georgia. Within the year after his return, he was in his sophomore year at Brigham Young University and hit a .327 average this past season. He also had 56 RBIs and stole 12 bases and earned national player of the week honors twice this past season. He also started to receive positive feedback from professional scouts about a month into the season. He helped BYU win a West Coast Conference regular season title.

Cluff is from Meridian, Idaho. His father, Paul, was a fourth round pick in 1989 and played for the minors.
