Jake Black is social media marketing manager for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, of which he is a member.

Black was an adjunct professor of social media marketing at LDS Business College from April 2015 to March 2016. He was a writer and producer of digital, social, and viral marketing for the Warner Brothers’ television series “Smallville.” His comic book writing credits include Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Supergirl, Ender’s Game, and Batman: The Brave & the Bold. He has also worked as a freelance writer, producer, and copywriter, with such clients as Warner Brothers, Cartoon Network, Fox Network, the CW, DC Comics, and Marvel Entertainment.

In an interview with LDS Living magazine, Black said, “There have been ways I have shared my faith [in comics]. But it’s more subtle I think, like I’ve paraphrased scripture in dialogue I’ve given to characters.”[1]

He earned his bachelor’s degree in history from Brigham Young University, where he also belonged to the BYU Young Ambassadors.

Black is a cancer survivor (Hodgkin's Lymphoma) and worked as Utah coordinator for Stupid Cancer, Inc.
