Jean’s Golden Girls are a group of dancers between the ages of 50 and 91 based in Provo, Utah. It started as an exercise class for women over 40 that Jean Dixon Elliott started almost twenty years ago. Jean choreographs jazz, tap, and country western dances to a variety of music. The group was soon asked to perform at a church function and their popularity grew. They often perform at basketball half times and have appeared at Utah Valley University, the University of Utah, Madison Square Garden, the Grand Ole Opry, and Branson, Missouri; with the Utah Jazz and the Los Angeles Clippers; and recently, as part of Alex Boye’s video “Uptown Funk.” They had their own stage at the 2002 Salt Lake Olympics.

Many of the dancers joined for the original intent—exercise—but most come for the fun and companionship. Many of the members belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
