Jean Holbrook Mathews is the author of primarily Latter-day Saint historical fiction; her titles include Escape to Zion (2010), Safe Haven (2013), Run for Your Life (2014), Precious Cargo (2012), Desert Rain (2016), and Winds of Change (2017). She also wrote The Light Above: A Novel of Faith and Determination (2009) and the suspense novel The Assignment (2011). She contributed to A Mother’s Prayer: Inspiring True Stories to Warm the Heart and Two Stories of Faith: Eli, the Shepherd Boy and Abigail, the Innkeeper’s Wife.
Mathews is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served a mission with her husband in the Philippines. She served as the administrative director for an international foundation headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, with chapters in five countries, including the Philippines.
