John A. McCune

John A. McCune is a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was sustained on April 6, 2019.

McCune was born on June 20, 1963, in Santa Cruz, California, and raised primarily in Nyssa, Oregon. He holds a Master of Business Administration degree in finance from the University of California, Los Angeles. He earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Brigham Young University. He was senior vice president and managing director for Capital Investment Advisors from 1997 to 2012. He then was donor liaison for principal gifts with LDS Philanthropies.

McCune has served in the Church as a full-time missionary in Fukuoka, Japan, a stake president, bishop, counselor in a bishopric, counselor in a branch presidency, ward finance clerk, counselor in a ward Young Men presidency, and elders quorum president. He presided over the Utah Provo Mission. He was serving as an Area Seventy and a member of the Fifth Quorum of the Seventy at the time of his new calling.

He and his wife, Debbra Ellen Kingsbury, are the parents of four children and live in Midway, Utah.
