John Foss is a producer, director, writer, and actor. He is probably best known to members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for his portrayal of Jesus Christ in the Church’s Bible videos. He also portrayed Joseph Smith in “Days of Harmony” shown at the Priesthood Restoration Site. He is the writer and director of "The Christ Child: A Nativity Story."

His work extends beyond Church productions. He has been recognized with multiple CINE wins and Emmy awards. He is head of development at Kaleidoscope Pictures.

Foss holds an MFA in film from Columbia University. He earned his bachelor’s degree in speech communication and rhetoric and a bachelor’s in film from the University of Utah. He also studied acting at the Denver Center for Performing Arts and the University of Utah, and workshopped in the Sundance Director’s Lab and Columbia University.
