He oversaw the Church’s [[Perpetual Education]] Fund from 2001 to 2012. He also served as a full-time [[Missionary|missionary]] in the Western Central States Mission, presided over the Idaho Boise Mission, and served as a stake president, counselor in a bishopric, and regional representative.<br /> <br /> He was born on May 10, 1931, in Winslow, Arizona. He earned his bachelor’s degree from [[Brigham Young University]] and his JD law degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. He practiced law in Los Angeles until his call to full-time Church service.
