José A. Teixeira is a general authority of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was sustained a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy on April 5, 2008, and served as president of the Europe Area Presidency. Prior to his call, he was presiding over the Brazil Sao Paulo South Mission. He served in the Third Quorum of the Seventy from 1997 to 2005.

Teixeira was born on February 24, 1961, in Vila Real, Portugal. He served as a full-time missionary in the Portugal Lisbon Mission. He has also served as elders quorum president, district president, high priests group leader, high councilor, stake president, and Area Seventy.

He earned a degree in accounting and business management from IAT Technical Improvement Institute in Lisbon and then studied accounting and commerce at Jaime Cortesao Technical School in Lisbon. Teixeira was an area finance manager and later International Controller for the LDS Church.

He and his wife, Maria, are the parents of three children.
