Teixeira is a General Authority of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was sustained a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy on April 5, 2008, and served as president of the Europe Area Presidency. He is currently serving in the Presidency of the Seventy. Prior to his call, he was presiding over the Brazil Sao Paulo South Mission. He served in the Third Quorum of the Seventy from 1997 to 2005.
