He has since moved to New Jersey, and now serves as a counselor in the Cherry Hill New Jersey [[Stake]] presidency.
 
 
 
Brother Uceda was one of the original 117 Area Authorities called in 1995.  He was one of six called to serve in the South American North Area; the South America West Area had not yet been organized at that time. 
 
 
 
Three of the other Area Authorities called in the South American North Area in 1995, [[Eduardo Gavarret]], [[Walter F. Gonzalez]], and [[Carl B. Pratt]], would later serve as [[General Authorities]].
 
 
 
At the time of his call as an Area Authority Seventy, Brother Uceda was working as a [[Church Educational System]] director.  Prior to his call as an area authority, Brother Uceda had served as a regional representative, [[bishop]], and president of the Lima Peru Magdelena Stake, among other callings.  Uceda also served as president of the [[Peru Lima North Mission]] from January 1992 until 1995.
 
 
 
Brother Uceda is a native of Lima, Peru.  He has a Bachelor's degree from the Superior Institute of Jose C. Mareategui. 
 
 
 
Brother Uceda's wife is the former Maria Isabel Bendezu, who was born in Santiago.  They are the parents of four children.
