Karen Cozzens Acerson is a community volunteer who sits on the Utah Valley University Board of Trustees and is Executive Director of the Timpanogos Storytelling Festival. She is a New York Times bestselling author.

Acerson is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was born and raised in Moab, Utah. She studied home economics education at Brigham Young University. She worked as Director of Customer Support for the WordPerfect Corporation where she helped rewrite their user manual, taught classes, and instructed in training videos. Her WordPerfect: The Complete Reference was a New York Times bestseller. She also wrote other computer-training materials for McGraw-Hill/Osborne and Ziff-Davis Press.

She has been a 4-H teacher and PTA volunteer. Acerson and her husband, Jeff, are the parents of six children. From 2007 to 2010, she served with her husband as he presided over the Italy Rome Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.[1]
