Laurence “Lars” M. Yorgason is the composer of “We Meet, Dear Lord” (#151), which was included in the 1985 Hymns of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Yorgason was born in 1937. He wrote “All Too Rare: The Rise and Fall of Jazz DJs on Utah AM Radio, 1945–1965” (Utah Historical Quarterly) and has lectured on The History of Jazz Music in Utah. He is a past president of the nonprofit Jazz Arts of the Intermountain West, a freelance bassist, and a former part-time jazz instructor at four Utah universities.
